| This is a very pretty vintage pomander or pot pourri holder from England with a ribbed and domed shape and the original rubber seal and pot pourri inside. The ceramic pomander is unusual as it does not have a hanging cord as many pomanders do. This pomander was made in the 1920-1930s and was designed to sit on a dressing table, in a closet or in a drawer. The pomander measures 2.75 inches high by 3.5 in diameter and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or wear. Pomanders were developed in the 1500s to scent clothing, bedding and closets and to scent a room to disguise the medieval smells of no drains. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured. |
